Overview: Costiera Amalfitana, italian for 'The Amalfi Coast', is a length of Italy's coastline on the south of the Sorrentine Peninsula (Province of Salerno). The Amalfi Coast extends from the town of Vietri sul Mare in the east to Positano, Campania in the west. The Amalfi Coast is named an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Towns on The Amalfi Coast include Vietri sul Mare, Cetara, Maiori, Minori, Ravello, Scala, Atrani, Amalfi, Conca dei Marini, Furore, Praiano and Positano. In 1953 American writer John Steinbeck wrote the book 'Positano' in which he features The Amalfi Coast.

Getting around The Amalfi Coast, Italy
- By Road - The coastal road along the Amalfi Coast is well known for its hairpin bends. It winds along the cliffs, offering incredible views glimpses of the blue sea below
- By Train - Take the train to Naples or Salerno. From Salerno take the SITA bus to Amalfi. From Naples you can take the Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento followed by the SITA bus to Positano and on to Amalfi
- By Ferry - Salermo to Amalfi
- By Bus - There is a bus all the way from Rome to Amalfi (during the summer season). All year round the bus goes to Sorrento. The bus company is 'Marozzi'
- By Air - Naples Capodichino is the nearest airport to the Amalfi Coast
