Overview: Aside from the residential aspect, The Palm Islands simply put, are three awe inspiring islands dotted along Dubai’s Gulf shoreline, each representing the epitome of mans taming of nature as each island has been created from land reclaimed from the sea, visually stunning from the ground and from the air.
The three island are; The Palm Jumeirah, The Palm Jebel Ali, & The Palm Deira. Each designed to represent a palm tree, topped with a crescent, the islands will accommodate a large number of state of the art residences, leisure and entertainment centres.

The Palm Jumeirah was first to be completed and all three projects have been instigated to increase a previous shortage of beach front area in Dubai.
Residents have already moved in and are enjoying fantastic water front views, set in guaranteed sunshine, with amazing marine life at the bottom of their gardens. Living at the Palms is described by many as heaven on earth, and being set amongst so much beauty you can imagine why.
Accommodation on the islands will consist of medium to large sized waterfront villas as well as high rise studio and penthouse apartments set within the futuristic and gorgeously designed towers, all of which is sit within immaculately manicured gardens and five star restaurants, hotels, luxury spas, marinas, sports facilities, and shopping malls.
Living at the Palms, aside from the exclusive address that comes with it, ensures a life set in tranquil luxury, just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the rest Dubai, but close enough to reach it when searching for more excitement.

Construction of the islands is simply mind boggling when you look at some of the bare facts.
These artificial peninsulas are built upon sand and rock dredged and quarried from the surrounding area, totalling a massive 1.1 billion cubic metres.
The Palm Jumeirah was the first to be completed and residents began moving in, in 2006. The island alone has provided an extra 78 kilometres to Dubai’s coastline. Measuring 5km across, the ultimate target for Palm Jumeirah is around 4,000 homes.
The Palm Jebel Ali is twice as large as Palm Jumeirah, with construction beginning in October 2002.
This island is anticipated to accommodate nearly 2 million people by 2020, although a date for completion has yet to be confirmed.
Palm Jebel Ali will include six marinas, homes built right over the water front standing on stilts, and four water theme parks to be run by the Busch Entertainment Corporation, set at the pinnacle of the crescent breakwater that surrounds the island.
Palm Deira, originally designed to be 8 times larger than Palm Jumeirah, had to be re thought as the development stretched further out into the Gulf waters than its neighbouring Palms. This together with certain financial restraints brought about by the global downturn has meant a number of revisions regarding the size of the development. But the first phase, known as Deira Island is positioned between the entrance to Dubai Creek and Al Hamriya Port, and will act as a the gateway to the Palm Deira.

Sights / Points Of Interest:
Living at the exclusive “Palms” you may never be tempted to go anywhere else ever. But if the luxurious lifestyle and sumptuous surroundings get too much then there’s so much more to see in Dubai. For a traditional perspective, Downtown Dubai contains some amazing sights, sounds, and tastes in the traditional spice and gold markets, as well as the historic mosques and local museums dedicated to preserving Dubai’s history.
The future can be gazed from the spire of the Burj Tower, with unlimited views across the jewel of Dubai and the two wildernesses of the Gulf Sea & the Arabian Desert. Dubai has just about everything you could ever need or want from either a place to live or a place to visit. Desert excursions, wilderness camping, dune driving, sailing, diving, all this and so much more including state of the art health clubs, cinema multiplexes and stunning shopping malls, all spread out across any number of Dubai’s developments. The choice is simply endless.
Location:
The Palms are dotted along the Dubai coastline with the Palm Deira being the northern post, lying close to Deira and the entrance to Dubai Creek. Once at the mainland, this Palm is just a few minutes drive east to reach the Dubai International Airport. Palm Jumeirah is the next island along off to the South West, approximately 25 km away, with Palm Jebel Ali lying a further 20km away to the South.
Getting around Dubai The Palm Islands:
By road: For the Palms, road access here is very easy with a central roadway serving each of the islands “Fronds”, leading to a central access causeway. For the rest of Dubai, the highways are straight forward to use and are well maintained. An international driving license will be required, or a temporary one will be accepted if holders are only visiting.
By train: The Dubai Metro opened recently to service the main Dubai hubs. The Palm Jumeirah also has its own Monorail service running from the Gateway Station at the trunk of the development, to Atlantis Station at the apex of the crescent.
By foot: All developments are designed for luxury and ease of use, so pedestrian access is easy and a guaranteed pleasure.

Getting to Dubai The Palm Islands by air: For most of us a direct economy flight would probably be our first choice, and this service is provided by Emirates Airways. For UK travellers the main airports of Manchester, Birmingham, Heathrow and Gatwick should be the first consideration as point of departure. Smaller airports such as Bristol may be worth considering but a change over flight will probably be necessary. Operators to Dubai include BA, Air France, Brunei Airlines & KLM.
Climate: The benefit of residing at The Palms is that the maximum daytime temperatures of 40 degrees C in the summer will be nicely offset by the cooling sea breezes. The climate is understandably hot and arid and the hottest time of the year tends to be June to August.
Terrain: The Palms is a splendid example of just how geologically sound the area is regarded as being. The shallow waters of the Gulf and a long distant seismic fault ensure peace of mind if concerned about earthquakes and Tsunamis.
