About Milan

Overview: Milan is often referred to as Europe's creative capital. Milano could almost be italian for 'shopping' as in the city it is almost a religious experience with Via Montenapoleone, with its' italian and international designer shops, being at its' heart. Theatre, cinema, clubbing and eating out also contribute to the tempting list of activities on offer to the visitor. There are very many impressive modern and historic buildings in Milan. City population 1.4 million.

Climate: The weather in Milan is mild, being neither too hot and nor too cold. However, there are occasional heat-waves and cold snaps. During the entire month of August the city experiences a calm as the Milanese head for the nearby hills and lakes.

Duomo - Having taken 4 centuries to finish, the cathedral, the third largest in the world, provides the focal point for the Piazza Duomo
