Apartment living popular in Perth
Current research involving Australian property owners revealed the changing attitude regarding the liveability factor of major cities across the country.
Thousands of residents across all capital cities recorded their views on government action relating to urban strategy. Melbourne and Perth came in joint third position after Adelaide and Canberra for the most liveable city in Australia.
Population growth in Perth has led the majority of residents to support plans for more apartment developments and also support plans for the redevelopment of disused industrial sites for new housing projects to include town houses and condos.
The belief of many Perth residents, according to the Property Council, is the State Government’s action on planning for housing growth as good but highlight affordability issues.
There is a clarity and acceptance from local residents that in order to join the Australian property ladder higher density housing is the way forward.
