Bulgaria low on UK investor list
Real estate in Bulgaria just doesn’t cut the mustard for UK investors anymore, according to a recent report by Savills. The report, in conjunction with Homeaway.co.uk, shows that just over 40 000 properties belong to UK investors but due to the earthquake of the globe’s finances, UK investor activity is down by over 80%.
The whole insecurity of the markets has meant that exotic locations such as Bulgaria feature much further down the list of preferred locations, if showing at all. Whilst UK buyers shy away from investment property in Bulgaria, investors from Russia seem to be seizing every property opportunity that’s available.
One of the greatest interests to Russian buyers is the flood of tourist orientated real estate that's now being brought to market, with hotel property in Sunny Beach and property in Burgas topping their list but whilst the market has been taken off the boil, the government in Bulgaria has stepped up initiatives aimed at improving the basics, ready for Bulgaria’s reinvigorated role when markets resume.
