Film festival kick starts French property lets
The spotlight falls on Cannes at this time of year for the eagerly awaited world famous film festival, fans from around the globe travel to the area to try and catch a glimpse of their favourite star.
French property agents are kept busy as the summer lettings season kicks off and properties for rent in Cannes come at a premium price leading up to, during and in the weeks following the festival. The most sought after properties including sumptuous apartments in the centre and villas favoured by the celebrated actors and entertainers are booked up to twelve months in advance.
A local agent has one French property that would generally cost six hundred Euros normally – the price quadruples during the height of the summer season during July and August but due to its close proximity to the Palais des Festival to rent the one bedroom apartment during the Film festival the price sky rockets to around six thousand Euros.
Agents agree that French property investors buying a dwelling in the city are on to a winner with rental potential.
