Home ownership still important to Americans

USA real estate agents will, no doubt, be cheered by the results of a recent poll that suggests home ownership is still a priority with three quarters of Americans. The American dream of buying their own home is alive and well although the majority of potential home buyers believe it may take longer to achieve their goal due to the current economic conditions. The rental sector of the USA real estate market is expected to flourish for some time yet as many of the younger generations struggle to qualify for an American mortgage despite the current low interest rates. Most residential real estate experts agree that with house prices up to 50 per cent lower than levels reached prior to the global financial crisis it is a great time to join the property ladder – however with employment conditions still showing signs of concern and stricter home loan criteria in place the dream is expected to continue for millions of young Americans.
