More French state property for sale
Are you looking to buy an overseas property with a difference then head off to France - the government have announced the sale of hundreds of state owned buildings.
In an effort to reduce their national debt the government have ear marked 1,700 properties that are considered superfluous to requirement, many are in need of expensive restoration and some commentators believe the buildings are just too expensive to maintain in the present debt fuelled climate.
Among the property for sale in France are historic buildings, no longer used government buildings, charming chateau and even a royal hunting lodge.
Local authorities have first refusal but thereafter the bidding is open to anyone with the legal funds to close a sale; complete background checks will be completed before the deal is done to avoid any 'dirty money' transactions that have occurred in the past.
Around 20 per cent of the French propeprty proceeds will go towards the national debt estimated at more than 1.4 trillion Euro.
