Olympic demand for London rentals
With less than 100 days to go before the start of the Olympic Games London property owners are hoping for a crowd of overseas spectators looking to rent a private property for the duration of the Games.
London property agents have reported huge numbers of enquiries from around the globe as hotel vacancies are few and far between. Most hotels in the capital have reported full occupancy for the months of July and August and prices have been at a premium for the Olympic event.
Several holiday rental websites report record numbers of enquiries for London properties and home owners keen to cash in on the mini letting boom have increased the rental cost in some cases by up to 200 per cent.
International demand is high particularly for accommodation within walking distance of the Olympic venues and prices range from £500 per week for one bedroom flat to £30,000 per week to stay in a top notch apartment.
So great is the demand from international visitors many families are preparing to move out of the capital during the games and offering their homes for rental in order to cash in on this spectacular rental opportunity.
