People 'spending more when abroad'

The majority of people are spending more than they intend to when travelling to stay in overseas accommodation, according to one expert, a problem which could be solved by choosing a low-cost destination such as
Bulgaria.
Sean Tipton, spokesperson at ABTA - The Travel Association, said that people rarely stick to their budgets when going to stay abroad, as many items often cost more than they envisaged.
"It's normal, you're on a budget, so you think you will get by on that, but very few will stick to it," he stated.
However, this could be avoided by travelling to stay in property in Bulgaria, where a recent survey declared it to be one of the least expensive places on the planet.
The Cost of Living 2009 survey, conducted by industry magazine Quest, recently revealed that some items in
UK supermarkets are twice as expensive as those in commercial property in Bulgaria after exchange rates are taken into account.
