Record breaking price for London garage

The London property market has a new record breaking listing in the form of a double garage up for sale with price tag of more than half a million pounds.

The freehold building measures 6.4 metres wide by 4.75 deep and is on the market for more than three times the national average cost of a house currently said to be around £160,000.

The garage is located in upmarket Knightsbridge and is just a short walk from London’s priciest stores including world famous Harrods.

Despite the massive asking price the London property agent handling the sale expects a lot of interest as it is extremely rare to find a freehold garage in Knightsbridge. Potential buyers are likely to live close by where many of the larger houses have no provision for off road parking.

London property prices are streets ahead of the rest of the UK property market and Knightsbridge is located in the Borough of Kensington and Chelsea where average house prices are just below one million pounds.
