Spring sales surge in Canada
The spring selling season has started well across the markets for real estate in Canada according to the latest figures from The Canadian Real Estate Association.
Sales activity on residential resale properties lifted during March by 2.5 per cent when compared to February, giving the highest level of sales activity for twenty two months.
Respectable increases in activity were especially noted for Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto. Sales activity levels decreased in Vancouver and the Fraser Valley when compared to the same month last year due to uncommonly robust levels last spring.
Overall most experts agree that the level of properties for sale in Canada is at a level well able to support current demand and in the main the housing market remains well balanced.
Toronto currently tops the list for the district with the most robust levels of sales activity.
